Milling

Covers the full range from coarse crushing to ultrafine grinding, efficiently processes various complex materials including high-hardness, highly abrasive, and heat-sensitive types, and enables precise control of particle size and morphology.

Disintegrator RD RH RARP

Disintegrator RD RH RARP

The Disintegrator is a coarse grinding machine that can be widely applied to various industries such as the food industry for processing vegetables, fruits, fish meats, as well as chemicals, plastics (resins), pharmaceuticals, etc. It can perform dry milling or wet milling depending on the application.

Principle of Operation

RI Type: Inline

The inline crusher delivers efficient dispersion, deagglomeration, and particle size reduction of feed materials through repeated impact and grinding forces, generating high-intensity turbulence and high shear rates. With its versatile design and technology, it is suitable for processing a wide range of materials across various industries, including home care and specialty chemicals.

The inline crusher features a rotor mounted on either a vertical or horizontal shaft, with a main screen fully enclosing the rotor. Material entering the grinding chamber rotates with the rotor and is held in place by the upper and lower hammers until the processing cycle is completed by the rotor and hammer assembly. The processed material then passes through a 360° perforated screen basket and is discharged circumferentially from the equipment for further downstream processing.

Packing seals or mechanical seals are available to meet customer requirements. Mechanical seals can be configured as single-face, double-face, or back-to-back paired designs to suit different processes and applications, ensuring effective environmental protection.

RA/RP Type: Angled Shaft

Hosokawa Micron's angled-shaft crushers are designed to reduce a wide variety of materials into uniformly fine or coarse finished products, suitable for processing pastes, sauces, and mud-like food ingredients.

Material is fed from the top of the angled-shaft crusher and is processed under repeated impact and shearing action of rotating hammers. Centrifugal force drives the material through a 360° perforated screen, and the finished product is discharged from the bottom of the machine for convenient collection.

The RA series features belt drive with an independent drive motor and can be designed with an auxiliary outlet for discharging foreign materials if required. The RP series, on the other hand, employs direct motor coupling drive with a single outlet.

The angled-shaft crusher features a simple yet ingenious design that enables easy and efficient cleaning, allowing for rapid material changeovers. The easily replaceable perforated screen ensures consistent processing results with uniform product quality, while effectively controlling temperature rise and reducing energy consumption, making the angled-shaft crusher highly energy-efficient in operation.

Principle of Operation

RD Type: Vertical Shaft

The vertical-shaft crusher is designed to efficiently process conventional and more challenging materials, including those with high fat and high moisture content, as well as grains, wood, and other waste-generating feedstocks. Material is fed from the top via a screw feeder into the processing chamber, where it is crushed and dispersed by a high-speed rotor with strategically arranged hammers.

A 360° perforated screen surrounds the processing chamber to ensure uniform particle size reduction. The upper and lower hammers control material residence time, while the middle hammers are responsible for dispersion and crushing. Once the material is reduced to the desired particle size, it passes through the perforated screen and is discharged from the main outlet, typically for collection. Impurities or off-spec material can be continuously removed through an optional auxiliary discharge port.

The screen features uniform openings and is available in a variety of specifications, ensuring a narrow particle size distribution while effectively limiting temperature rise during processing.
