Silver Powder
Silver powder is a core functional metal powder material in the electronics industry. With excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and chemical stability, it is widely used in high-end manufacturing fields such as photovoltaic cell silver paste, semiconductor packaging conductive adhesive, MLCC (Multi-layer Ceramic Capacitor) electrode paste, flexible printed circuits and electromagnetic shielding materials.
The core quality indicators of silver powder include particle size distribution accuracy, particle morphology consistency and purity, among which particle size control is the key to determining the performance of downstream products. High-end electronic pastes require precise particle size cut-off of silver powder and strict control of coarse particle content. Excessive coarse particles will cause line breakage and missing printing during the printing process, or result in uneven resistance of the conductive layer, which directly affects the conversion efficiency of photovoltaic cells, the reliability of semiconductor devices and the service life of circuits.
Process
As the high-end silver powder market imposes increasingly stringent requirements on particle size accuracy, traditional classification equipment can no longer meet industry demands, and the following core pain points are prevalent:
Inability to achieve high-precision particle size cut-off, with over-coarse product particle size
Equipment such as traditional classifiers and vibrating screens has low classification accuracy and cannot effectively separate micron-sized fine particles from coarse particles. Products suffer from excessive coarse particle content and wide particle size distribution, making it difficult to meet the rigid requirements of high-end electronic pastes for narrow distribution and zero oversized particles.
Poor batch-to-batch product stability
High energy consumption and large floor space
High precious metal loss
Hosokawa Solution
Targeting the core pain points in silver powder production, we provide a high-precision dry classification solution based on the ATP multi-wheel classifier. Specially designed for the fine classification of precious metal powders, it enables precise micron-level particle size cut-off and narrow distribution control.
Core Advantages of the Solution
Ultra-high-precision particle size cut-off for compliant product quality
Adopting multi-impeller parallel classification technology, the ATP multi-wheel classifier achieves precise cutting of micron-sized particles and strictly removes over-limit coarse particles, solving the industry-wide problems of "over-coarse particle size and overly wide distribution" of traditional equipment. The particle size indicators of products fully meet the stringent requirements of high-end electronic pastes.
Compact system structure with greatly reduced floor space
The whole system adopts a modular integrated design. Compared with traditional classification processes, it occupies a much smaller area, and can be flexibly adapted to the retrofit of existing production lines and the layout of new workshops.
Low energy consumption, efficient operation and reduced production costs
The ATP classifier features an aerodynamically optimized design, with classification efficiency improved obviously compared with traditional single-wheel classifiers, and energy consumption per unit product is significantly reduced. Meanwhile, its closed structure realizes near-zero loss of silver powder, greatly reducing the waste of precious metal materials.
