Rubber chopper

Rubber chopper

Hosokawa Micron is a global leader in the rubber chopper market, trusted by customers worldwide. Our rubber chopper technology is designed for both standalone use and seamless integration into bespoke process systems, including turnkey projects focused on bale grinding.

Principle of Operation

The Rubber Chopper is engineered for heavy-duty, high-torque rubber bale grinding and size reduction, efficiently shredding bales of rubber and plastic in seconds. Built from robust stainless steel, normal steel, and duplex alloy, it offers exceptional durability and corrosion resistance, supported by a wear-protected discharge barrel for extended service life.

Capable of processing between 1.2 and 6 tonnes per hour, the Rubber Chopper is designed for both standalone operation and seamless integration into bespoke process systems, including continuous in-line and recirculation-type dispersion systems for synthetic rubber processing with solvents such as styrene.

Available with an optional automatic pneumatic bale feeder, the system ensures trouble-free, safe bale feeding while preventing rotor bridging, enhancing operational efficiency. Standard ATEX-certified versions are offered for hazardous area compliance, ensuring safe processing in demanding environments.

The Rubber Chopper handles a variety of rubber bale materials—including butadienes, nitriles, natural rubbers, and reclaimed compounds, making it ideal for producing advanced rubber compounds used in automotive and industrial applications worldwide.
